Curious, I'm told that the model a came with engine splash pans. 1. Is it true, and was or is it a necessity? 2. Is it something I should be looking for and what was it's function?
Tall order here, but never saw them so not sure what they look like Thanks, Tom |

1 yes, help cooling and are more direct current path for the starter rather the indirect frame/ motor mount path. 2 it's up to you, I run them.

Having no splash pans fitted is lke walking around with no shoes on.
They are an essential part.

Wow! Thanks, I had no idea I was missing an essential part of my coupe.
Now I'll have to keep an eye on sales for them. Do you have to fit them or do they bolt in in a specific place? Are there holes in the frame where they bolt on?? |

Just put a set on mine. Holes are there, get a helper to work the top side. It'll go better !

Besides helping with things like cooling, to me they also kind of dress up and finish off the engine compartment, and I much prefer having them...........

bought my powder coated ones from Bratton's and they fit fine. Been on the car for years and no problems.

If it is not a fine point show car, thread tap the holes in the frame to 5/16NF. Makes installation of the pans much easier
