Default Head light gasket

What is the best way to assure that the cork gasket between the reflector and the lens is located properly? Should it be held to the reflector with some sort gasket sealer, or placed on the lens ?

The gasket is placed within a trough area "U" that surrounds the outside of the reflector. It is held in by "indents"...that is if you have original reflectors...Hard telling about repop reflectors as I have never seen those.

Steve,
Thanks for the quick reply. I looked at my reflectors and was able to push the cork into the "U" shaped ring with some effort. Once it's in there, it's obvious that's where it belongs. I note that you have an interest in AA trucks. Getting the headlights on my '29 AA is one of the last steps needed to get my truck on the road.
Thanks again,
Don

Glad you got that under control.

Yes, I to am restoring a October 1929 AA Truck with platform bed and steak racks. Have a ways to go but the frame is done so it is just a matter of restoring things and assembling them to the chassis.

I am in need of some 29 Twolight buckets.

For the record, only Twolight reflectors have the "U" channel. If you use those in '28 "H" headlamps you will not get a proper focus with your driving lights.
