Default 1940 Ford Heater switch question

If possible, could one of you fine folks post photos of what a genuine 1940 Ford heater switch with knob looks like? Please include photos of the backside where the wires attach. I have a switch, but I want to know if it's the correct one.
Thanks, Jim

Jim,
The hot water heater switch is a tad different than the hot air heater switch. Outwardly, they appear nearly identical. The hot water heater switch has four terminals as well as four positions noted on the knob (plus "off"). The hot air heater has only two terminals and subsequently two positions noted on the knob (plus "off").
Two of my pictures show front and back of a proper (albeit used) hot water heater switch. Note the terminals utilize small screws to attach the wires. Solder type terminals are later.
The switch depicted with the wires attached is hot air type.
Hope this helps.

THANK YOU very much Mike. The switch with knob I have looks like photo #3 but the bottom part where the wires go looks different. So, I assume it's not the original switch. You have been a big help. The switch I have looks like the one below except it has the little chrome bezel that hides the nut and it also has the original 1940 Ford plastic heater knob. It was in the car when I bought it in 1963 so I guess someone replaced the original at some point. But the more I think about it, shouldn't I be using the OEM switch like the one you posted?

That switch knob looks alot like the one in my 49 F1. I know my heater came from Wester Auto in the 50s but I don't know if the knob was part of the aftermarket heater or was original to truck.

Hi Jim, My pictures were not very good. There is in fact a small chrome bezel with a red stripe on the 1940 switch. The switch in your picture was used '41 - '48. The knobs changed respective of the year. You can certainly use the later switch in your '40. They are much more plentiful and as such, much more reasonable to acquire.
The '40 knob will not interchange with the later switch.

V-12Bill,
If you happen to have another OEM switch please consider selling it to me.
Thanks, Jim

Jim, Correct '40 switches are tough to locate. A '39 hot water heater switch is the same as a '40 sans the knob. You can get beautiful reproduction knobs for '40 easy enough.
