Default Toe-In Adjustment

Les Andrews in his Mechanics Handbook (page 2-19) states that toe-in should be 3/16" +- 1/16 while in his Troubleshooting and Diagnostic (page 5-19) he says it should be 1/16" +- 1/32. Which is correct and does anyone have any further thoughts on this subject ?

It was originally 3/16 and then Ford changed it to 1/16 +- 1/32.

Jack,

I started a note on this subject back a couple of months. The answer to your question is that Ford changed the toe-in from 3/16 to 1/16 during the Model A time.

I set my car to 1/16 and it made a nice improvement.
