I'm getting ready to paint my phaetons top irons. The judging standards simply says that they are painted black lacquer. Would that be more of a wet black look or a semi-gloss black? Thanks

I don't have a good picture of originals, but would say NOT the wet look. See if you can find pictures of Dave Lope's restored 1928 Phaeton, and you will see how thye should look. Also I'd think Marco's Roadster chassis would look about the same.
