Hey guys. I have been looking for a source to get a replacement ignition cylinder and hurd keys for stock '32 column drop. I have also been looking for a replacement ignition switch (the chrome part on the front). Does anyone reproduce these? Any help would be appreciated.
Jim

I don't believe anyone is commercially making that switch lever but if someone knows otherwise I would also be interested in finding out. On the lock cylinder, I would suggest not using a reproduction part. Find and use an original cylinder even if it must be repaired and/or re-keyed. JMHO

Basic cylinder swaps from '32-35...maybe '36, don't have ctalog here. Most original cylinders will revive with just a thorough cleaning...they are normally full of grit.
A drop specialist on the HAMB made a few levers from stainless some years back but I think he has not done another run...they were functional replacements, not truly repros, and could have been worked into a pretty close visual repro. |

Gentlemen, I would check with Jim Kroll in Ohio. He has had a few cylinders listed either here or on the Early Ford site. www.efv8.org They may have been for doors etc.....can't remember!

Jim, thanks for the tip. I am interested in getting on his list to buy some of these. I would very much appreciate a pm from you on how to get in touch with him so I could discuss some details and also get my name on his list. Thank you!

32 -35 Ign. cylinders were similar but not exactly the same. 32 and some 33 cylinders were polished on the face and had a small locking pin on the rear that acted as a detent. the later ones 34-35 did not have that pin and had a brushed chrome face. I just cut some keys for later cylinders for a friend and they were bare brass on the face. Also last week I purchased a near new 32 cylinder with matching HURD key for $135.00 from Ebay. Soooo ......real 32 cylinders are tough to find and pricey. Hope this helps.
