Question Temp gauges for the A

I have a 30 A coupe. It has a thermostat in the radiator cap. It is hard for me to see that little red line that indicates the temp. If I had one thing not stock on the A it might be a inside the car temp gauge. I often I need things but sometimes you guys change my reasoning for doing something. Like switching from 6 volts to 12 but I took your advice and didn't.

A boiling radiator is somewhat embarrising??? to me. A gauge might help me keep the advance in the correct position. How do you guys do it?????
