Everyone has their own budget constraints, but I like to guess how much longer I might have to live (age 66) & then compare that to how long I probably be dead!!

Spend as much as you like - it's your money, and remember, it's not someone else's inheritance until you die. Be happy, Bill

I think it's more about "what % to waste on life's necessities"
Most of us give a small fortune to communication companies every month and that burns me. We got home TV & internet, 2 cell phones, cable landline & another internet at work + satalite radio (which I tried to cancell but they dropped it to 1/2 price & I bit) grrrrrrrrr ![]() |

Pay your credit card off every month, establish a savings to make the house payment in the case of extended unemployment, and blow the rest (guilt free) on the cars.

I forget who made the statement but it went something like " If I don't spend the money on the cars I will waste it on loose women and booze!". Sounds like a good choice to me!

+1 To quote David Spade - "....anything I want, all the time."

Money aint no good unless you spend it. Life aint no good unless your happy. My Model A makes me happy so it gets what it needs, no matter what the cost or %.
Of course all the other bills are paid too. ![]()

respectfully disagree.
I'm always much happier married than single. if your experiences differ, you've perhaps chosen poorly :-)

I don't look at it as just spending on my hobby, it is an investment in my happiness.

The busier you are with a good hobby, the longer you will live. I'll be 75 in April, and still work on my 3 A's and occasionally on them for others. The more labor you put into your A, the less it will cost you out of pocket. Just enjoy your time!

If you raised kids, and I would hope they are now out of the house.....spend that sum of money on travel with the wife, and Model A's.

1. Pay everyone who can put you into jail or street for not paying.
2. Feed everyone, especially your dog. 3. The rest is for old Ford stuff. Remember, Ford junk will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no Ford stuff. |

When I purchased my 29 coupe, I mentioned to my wife that I could be out playing golf everyday spending $$$$ or buy an "investment" and have something. That idea got me my birthday present "for the rest of my life".

Ive never worried about how much I spend on my cars. I would never go into debt for anything other than my mtg tho.
I see some of you talking about your comunications costs. Ive droped my cable and pay for netflix and have the free hulu account. Between that and my antenna I have all I could EVER want. I watch a whole lot less commercials too. I have an extra computer I put toguther from free bits that sits right next to the tv. Remote mouse and keyboard. The cable company calls every month with some new "sale" I ask them if its down to $15 a month every time letting them know thats what it would be worth to me. The way I see it, I have $74 a month to spend on my cars now ![]() |

Wish Pat could be home, (in a dementia care home) to make me feel "guilty" for blowing $$$$$ on Model A stuff.
