It will come to pass when you will not be able to recognize one season from the next.

elwood,

As you are no doubt aware, you live in a major migratory flyway. Long ago I was stationed at Perrin AFB, up by Sherman. There was a huge bird refuge right under the outside downwind leg of the traffic pattern.

Couldn't help thinking about the possibilities of hitting one of the many Canada and Snow geese at 350 kts or so.

We have a bunch of Canada geese here in North Florida at this time of the year. This is a little confusing since their name has nothing to do with the country of Canada (they are not "Canadian" geese) ... we also have a lot of Canadian people here, too ... you can tell who they are because they are the only ones actually in the water swimming at the beach.

Seems it's been warmer in the north than the south lately. Those birds aren't stupid, you know.

El, I think those Geese are messed up due to 2012 being a "leap" year. Check the farmers almanac, it's all good!

Elwood, I think you are right in that they know something we don't. Recent world events and crazy weather indicate that what we once assumed as normal, can no longer be relied upon. Keep enjoying that old Ford experience. Brian

But seriously. I have been working in the Salt Lake City area since September. The building that I work at has a canal behind it and a small wet lands. There have been thousands of geese in a half a mile area, near this canal. No one I've talked to has ever seen this many geese at any time in this area. The canal is frozen over and has been for 2 weeks. No one can figure out why they are not down south. These geese even sleep out on the ice. I don't know much about their habits, but sleeping on the ice? Go figure. It's very strange.

GPS failure. Geese Positioning System. Either that or defective Chinese geese?

In all seriousness, we're on the verge of a cyclic magnetic pole reversal, has happened in the past several times. Documented in rock strata. Maybe that's what they're feeling?

And down here in New Zealand, news that Christchurch has today experienced another massive earthquake, comparable evidently to the February 22 quake. Christchurch keeps rocking and rolling, has been for months and months, once again one of those strange world events I mentioned in my earlier post. Brian

have heard the drought has changed some of the migration paths...so maybe they're going where the food is....when the snow flies and the water freezes, they'll head farther south.....just my guess.....Mike
