a 48 head is for a '35 with flat top pistons. a 68 head is for a '36 with domed pistons.
Best to use domed pistons and '36 head son either '35 or '36.
You can NOT use a #48 head on an engine with domed pistons. The dome will hit the head.
If your machinest ordered flat tops then you better use a pair of 48- heads. Otherwise the compression will be very low.

Actually a 40- head is for the flat tops, the 48- is for the domed pistons. The 68- was a replacement head.

I may have one from my 36. I'm going with an 8Ba. The block is here. It has domed pistons. The heads are at my mother's house. Haven't seen them in years. I'll go over Friday and see if they are what you need.
