That's a great little show!
Interesting to see how ruthless Henry was in protecting his empire from the potential effects of a union. Anybody seen colaberating with union interests was simply fired.
We've come along ways...opinions will vary on the direction...
In all honesty I doubt I'd last the day at the rate those men worked.

The Charlie Chaplin silent movie "Modern Times" depicts what can happen to some personality types that are not cut out for assembly-line work. Sure it is comedy, but Chaplin was also an astute critic of industrialization and its effects on society. Discovery channel has done documentaries on Ford and his empire.

Thumbs up Re: The Assembly Line... A Motion Picture

I was there; graduated from Henry Ford Trade School in 1952. They were still building flathead engines in the engine assembly plant a few blocks from the Rouge part of the Trade School.
Students on their lunch hour with their HFTS badge could walk the isles inside the plant and watch the workers and machines at work.
I was 15 1/2 starting there in the 10th grade, "T" section badge #1018.
awe inspiring to say the least; my heart is still there. Mark W. Slight

Thanks for the movie and the memories!
