Default Leaking Fuel Pump

Has anyone experienced a leaking fuel pump after winter storage?

It was rebuilt last summer and had no issues. I started it up last weekend and looked to be leaking from the diaphragm. Tightening all the screws helped but still leaking.

Just wonder if this has been seen before and what the fix was.

Dried out gasket? Assuming the leak is at the mounting... did you use a cork gasket, or something else? Maybe different is leaking from the connection? did you "secure" the connection with tape or compound or maybe just connect it to the fuel line

The diaphragm is the gasket. Could be leaking gas into the engine oil too if its cracked.

Did you use an ethanol resistant diaphragm when you rebuilt it?

This is normal. (For me at least). I use a push electric pump to prime after sitting. I often see the stock pump leaking. I just check the screws and leave it. After a while the top gasket and diaphragm seal will swell on contact with the new fuel and will seal.
