I am looking for a Model A that has not been restored and is all original but will require much elbow grease. Has not been out in the weather too much. I find myself with a health issue that is going to keep me indoors for awhile so need a project. This site won't let me post a link so you can find the car I am considering in Facebook Marketplace, So to find it Get In Facebook Marketplace, then in "Search Marketplace" put "Ford Model A" In "Location" Put Newcastle, Ne. In "Price" Put Minimum $6500 and Maximum put $6501. Car is Running, Brian has the Nebraska Title, His dad bought is 10 years ago and it has been in a garage since. He doesn't know anything about previous ownershipbut thinks his dad bought it in Counsel Bluffs. His dad died recently so needs to sell it. He thinks it may not be original paint but not sure. He knows nothing about the car. He said he's getting inquiries about it. Because it's in Nebraska could someone on this forum help me find someone who is knowledgable near Newcastle Pa that could inspect it and tell me regards the condition? I will gladly pay them. I would then have it shipped to my house. If I get a thunbs up from you people I will send him a $1000 deposit (that's what he requires)

If you add the link to the Facebook ad to your message, that would help.

It's rare to find long slumber cars with out having an issue with stuck valves or rings (or both) and a gooped up fuel system. This plus a lot of elbow grease to get the external finish and dusty interior back to livable condition. Old tires can be unusable even when stored with jack stands to suspend them above the garage floor.
A lot depends on the quality of the storage environment and how it was prepped for storage. |

Welcome to the Barn. I don't do Facebook so I cannot look at it, but others here should be able to follow your instructions to find it. It sounds like a good price for the car. I would say: go for it. There should not be any expensive surprises. If it has not been run for 10 years there will be some work and expense to get it running. Maybe a few days and a few hundred dollars. Safety first including tires ($800), brakes, steering, mirrors, lights, etc.

doesn't look bad at all. You need to see if the engine will turn over. Hope you have a hand crank.

I'm a little confused here. You wrote the car is in Newcastle, NE but you want someone in Newcastle. PA to inspect it? Your typing error? Or? Pictures show it as a 1930 Standard Tudor and a nice one too. Just saying be careful. LRF

Before locking in the deal it is critical to ensure the VID on the title matches the number on the engine block. If the numbers do not match be sure to check local registration requirements to avoid consigning yourself to "registration hell". A deal too good to be true usually dictates "shields up". Good Luck.

I agree, reputable shipping will most likely cost around $2.25 per mile.
