I'll try and explain my question. A friend was helping do some wiring on the left side of my stock '33 Ford engine compartment. He left before finishing the task. The conduit tube has the spark plug wires that enter from the front. There are two wires that look like they enter from the back of the tube. one going to the generator, the other to the coil. Do they both go into the tube from the back? or just one? if so, which one?
Thank you. |

I have a 1937 and I think the left side tube is shorter on the later model and the last spark plug wire also comes out the end. Right or wrong, I installed both the generator wire and the power wire to the coil in the end and out the hole that on the inside left tube, like yours appears to be. Let’s see what the experts say.

looking forward to hearing from the Gurus. Problem is probably beneath their tech threshold!
Thanks again! |

Both wires go in the back of the tube. The generator wire goes out its own port. The coil wire goes out the front of the tube.

I would think about running those two on the out side of tube or under with two clips as future maintenance on the distributor its better to have the tube and terminals caps removable ,

Here are a couple pics. On the complete assembled engine you will see the red wire underneath exiting a port. That goes to the coil.I can't remember if the gen wire exited that same port.Second pic is of my engine. You can see the loom resting under the tube in front .That goes to the gen. So the gen wire does exit that port.Originally The coil wire does not exit the front of the tube because there is a rubber boot connecting the tube to the outer dist cap.

The 33 conduit has two holes at the front one for the #5 cylinder plug wire and the second very close to the first for the two smaller wires.
