Hello.
First post. Searched many past posts but did not see the answer. Putting a 59 ab motor out of a 49 ford coupe into my 35 5 window coupe. Will that oil pan work? All stock suspension in the 35. I have the mercy water pumps already from speedway. Going to order the new clutch kit also as I am using the 35 transmission for now. Thanks for the help in advance. |

Are you sure it’s a 59A and not an 8BA ? 49 Fords had 8BA engines so if you do have an 8BA you’ll need a truck pan or even better a Mercury pan. The 59A should already have a rear sump pan.

You may want to go to this link and identify your motor before you think about the swap. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...ifications.htm
Lots of good info here. |

Page #221 of https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview...thead+Ford.pdf; an entire section on engine identification.

Do you know for a fact that you need the bell adapter? 59A needs no adapter. What distributor do you have? Pics are worth a thousand words.
EDIT: OP POSTED TWO IDENTICAL POSTS. IGNORE THIS ONE SO IT WILL GO AWAY!
