Default Sill Looking for License plate restorer

It appears that Duane Wells passed away. Sounds like we lost another craftsman. His price of $60 a plate was extremely reasonable. I have done a quick initial search and I found $235 a plate on Ebay and $300 a pair by the first that came up on google in CA. I plan to go to a Good Guys swap today but they are always expensive at those shows Anyone have recent history of a decent restorer? I don't need my plates to be the best thing on the car. I am not repainting it. Just looking for a fair deal. Thanks

Not sure where you are located, but there was a lady in the San Diego area (used to see her at the old San Diego swap meet) that did license plates. Maybe someone in that area might know her.

This guy from Pasadena CA. He is on the HAMB. I bought YOM plates fro my '54 Ranch Wagon from him. Fair price. Picked them up at the LARS swap meet.

There is a fellow in Western Tennessee area who does plates and they look excellent. Not sure if he does metal repair, but he's a painter pinstriper. Goes by the name DeeZ's ole school pinstriping. Google can probably find him.

I’ve used Larry twice in the last year, excellent. $60 each plus postage.

California used to want to see the plates before they were restored, you might want to check on that.

My car and plates are already registered in Cal. I am willing to take the risk that the restored or even new replica plates will never get called out especially with the limited amount if time I would be driving it.
