Wanting to rebuild my early horns. Does anyone have information on the capacitor value, point setting, etc.

all horns are the same 'til the early '50s. Even the long trumpet horns in the late '40s. The make-up is the same I've discovered 20+ years ago, using parts from a late '40s trumpet horn to replace parts in my '36 pickup horn. (dual '36 pickup horns; one was 'shot'.)

The points are normally closed with no power on the horn and open when the solenoid picks up. There is no setting suggest slowly adjust the set screw until you get the sound you want and then lock it down with the lock nut.

Good info, Thanks.
Still hoping someone has the information for capacitor and resistor values. For sure the capacitors need replacing. |
