Can This Wheel Cylinder be Saved?

I have been saving this USA made 1940 Ford OEM wheel cylinder ( 1" x 1 14" bore) for last 40 years.

I was thinking I could rebuild it by heating it up and filling in the pitted area with brazing rod and then hone it smooth.

What say you? Opinions welcomed. I hate to throw it away.
