maybe for the radio / TV people
Two questions my car 46 59 ab mechanical oil gauge read 60lb all day but the original electric reads 30lbs ? new nos gauge new sender (nope) tried several working senders (nope same thing) can a resistor on the sender help? if so what resistor value.
second question commercial truck, oil gauge reads too high mecanical gauge reads 45lbs dash gauge reads 80lbs can I put a 'pot' between the sender and sender wire? most likely its the sender the original can not be found anywhere...( want to keep the original gauge ) . I use to know this stuff but not now... |

Are these two vehicles 6V or 12V ? What engine is in the second vehicle? The 59AB should have an 80# oil pressure sender. It should be marked "80" on the square brass base above the threads.

the car 6 volt pos grd. 80 lbs 46 ford ( the Diesel registers 80lbs when the actual is 45 lbs 12 vt neg grd Detroit Diesel
I just want to increase the Ford pressure on gauge >CAR reads 30 mechanical reads 60 psi the diesel actual is 45 psi gauge reads 80 can I drop the ohms on the sender? somehow using a radio pot? sam Last edited by big job; 11-04-2023 at 08:11 AM. |
