Very interesting. I'm surprised that with millions of Model "A's" produced, there aren't that many dealer tags.

When I purchased my unrestored Fordor from the 3rd owner, it still had the dealer decal on the dash rail. The dealer was Fay-Berry Motors in Worcester, Mass. Unfortunately I was young and had no appreciation of the significance of the decal at the time. I sure wish I now that I didn't sand off that small piece of history.

This is a car I saw at a small car show in October. First time I have ever noticed one of these plates and unusual that it's from the same dealer as yours.

When I worked at Main Motors, a Chevy dealership, one of my jobs was prepping new cars for delivery and that meant I had to drill two holes in the trunk lid for the Main Motors nameplate. I don't recall seeing any dealer plates on Model A's, but a guy about 60 miles from me has the Model A that his grandfather bought new and it has the original spare tire cover with the dealer logo on it. I told him what a nice piece of history he had and the car was in great condition. Against my suggestion that it should always stay in that nice original condition, he did an amature restoration on it a few years ago. Made me sick to see it again without it being original.

Thanks, Buz. FASCINATING!! I also heard that one of Ford's short dealer training movies features the Martindale dealership.
