Default Mint

I have a question. How can a part especially something that will be easily seen be listed as "mint" with some damage? My definition of mint would be as it was made and most likely never used.

Like ronn said people can say whatever they want. See how the seller described this wheel.

These are vintage model A wheels from the early 1900s, perfect for car enthusiasts and collectors. These wheels have been well-maintained and have a long history. They are compatible with a variety of vehicles and are sure to add an authentic touch to any antique car restoration project.

Mint, as in the US Treasury Reserve, means they want a lot of money for it.

lol that wheel! I wouldn't even put it in my flower bed! Not much in scrap value, most of it is rusted away....and the price...oy-vey! Buy it now is what $1000 plus shipping.

Yes,

Folks are free to list their parts with any description they wish, just like the rest of us are free to Laugh Our @sses Off when reading those ads!

I believe the term "Mint" came from the coin collecting hobby & had very specific parameters used with the term. As with everything else in this decaying society, that term has been rendered meaningless.

God Bless
Bill

The only thing "mint" about that wheel is the "mint" it will cost to restore it - although it has been "well-maintained" according to the seller. Thank goodness for that! Otherwise, think of how bad it would look it if HADN'T been "well-maintained"!

Mint together with some terms indicating wear / damage is an oxymoronic term!
