Default 33 Cabriolet Door Striker

The striker plate on the drivers side door of my 33 Cabriolet is very loose. I’ve tried to tighten it up but it appears that I probably have either a stripped bolts, stripped cage nuts or both. It wiggles up and down as you can see from the two photos. I have circled the plate in a red line. I have two questions, first what is the size of the two bolts the attach the striker plate to the door frame and second, how much of a job is it to replace the nut that is in the cage that is attached to the body.
Thanks, John

You will have to remove the cowl trim panel to ascertain what is the source of the looseness and the required fix.

There are several slightly different strikers, make sure you have the correct one. I believe there is a metal plate with D-nuts that the screws screw into. The plates come in a couple of different variations. Some of the differences includes the spacing of the two holes for the mounting screws. The screws are 1/4-20 X 3/4"

The nuts are a separate plate from the body. You can purchase new ones. You will drop them into the cowl jamb several times while trying to install them...

There should be ribs on the body that lock into notches on the striker. They may have been misaligned and flattened out.
