Hey All,
What are the best plugs to use that would work well with a Petronix upgrade? I have the 292 v8.. Thanks all?

Re: Petronix upgrade
On my 55 with Pertronix, I ran NGK at .032 in a hot rodded 312.

Re: Petronix upgrade
Make sure you use the Pertronics coil. All of the failures I have ever read about were using someone else's coil.

Re: Petronix upgrade
Depending on which version of Pertronix you get, some of them will burn up & quit if the power to them is left on without the engine running.

Re: Petronix upgrade
Personally, I have the Igniter I with Autolite 46s and just an off the shelf coil from Pep Boys and I haven't had a problem. Its been going for close to ten years and never had a spark issue.

Re: Petronix upgrade
I used the Ignitor I in our '41 with a 302 for many years with only one module burn out and that was caused by a bad coil. other than that I had great luck. when our first module quit I tried another that I had for about 5 yrs as a spare. still no luck. Called PertroniX and they said send them both back which I did and they sent me 2 new units at no cost and said check the coil. that's when I discovered the coil was bad.

Re: Petronix upgrade
I just put an igniter II with the Pertronix coil in my ‘54 which has a ‘60 292 engine. Installed per instructions and it fired the very first crank, also appears to have more power while driving it.
