I just ran across this movie by accident. One or two folks in this movie are gone now, but most of us know the rest (including The Boss - Ryan). Damn this is good! Everyone needs to see this 57-minute video! The Coopman https://youtu.be/Ww3s1sJJxYU . |

Thanks for posting! I had never seen the Flathead Movie, and I fully enjoyed it.

Man good memories that was quite some time ago. Our race car was still a Drop tank Lakester with that little 671 GMC blower on the 258 CI flathead top speed 181 MPH in that configuration. Built a lot of flathead engine's since then a few are now over 200 MPH.

I’m watching it on my new 65” tv. Great video but the music sucks, in my opinion.

a lot of people don't like the music. I happen to really like it, that being said, I'm a big fan of punk and hard dissonant music. The director played in some of the bands featured in the movie. If you enjoyed this movie he has a few other as well. Long Beach about a car club and Rolling Bones. I can get exact titles if anyone is interested.
I definitely see the correlation between the music/movement and the engine and cars especially from back then. |

I just used the mute button when I watch.
I've put over 85,000 on my car, went across country border to border & Canada. I been lucky I guess along with always prepping my cars before tsking off on a journey. I never carried a spare or even a jack. I'm not sure what I would have done if I had a problem along the way. |

GB you are certainly correct on your assessment of mainland drivers compared to the quiet life on the island. That is until the tourists arrive! Pretty much the same way in the Dez. If I knew of a place that was peaceful & quiet all year I would have been there.
I always had a dream to buy a mountain, build my house & a road up to the house then when finished blow the road up. I almost had it when I bought & built my house & shop in Oregon. We lived there for 17 years & then grew old. Couldn't take the cold so moved to the Dez. |
