Default Cabriolet Weatherstrip Retainers

Can someone tell me if the 1932 Cabriolet weatherstrip retainers are the same for the A pillar and the B pillar? I'm in the middle of repairing the mangled one on the right.

Dunno. They don't look the same. How do measurements compare?

Lawson,
The above weatherstrips are from the A pillar. The one on the right is from the passenger side and was bent/mangled into the shape of a U. I've now restored it to reasonably match the drive side and the shape as shown in the 1932 Ford book page 16-7.

Looks like something that could “reasonably” be made???

Drake offers an excellent reproduction and they are in stock according to their website.

A caution on Drakes retainers... which may be old news.

When we purchased Drakes retainers 30 odd years ago they were too wide for the available rubbers. More investigation found that the rubbers were originally covered with a cloth flocking, when covered Drakes retainers were spot on. The retainers formerly made by Dales Mfg (and may just be on very long back order) were narrow enough to fit an uncovered rubber, but were of course too wide for the covered rubber. We have had some narrow versions made locally and they are in stock.

Karl,

Good point as I was thinking in terms of the original flock-covered weatherstrips. Drake used to sell the cloth covering, but is it not in their current online catalog.
