1939 Tudor Sedan - Drop That Rear End

I have been making great progress on my 39 Sedan that was put away in storage 30 years ago. It now runs and stops and is itching for a drive. I have a global 16" tire sourcing problems that is out of my control so I moved on to the stance of this car. The whole darn car was too high for my taste so I have installed a reverse eye Posie in the front and I really like the results. Now I need to address the back of the car. My original intent was to run 650 16" tires on the rear and 600 16" on the front. The car currently has the 30 year old bias ply 600 16" tires on all wheels and the rear of the car MUST COME DOWN.

So, I want to know what you 39/40 owners have done to drop the rear end 2" on your car. I don't want to use longer shackles so I want to hear from the guys that used a reverse eye Posie in the back and/or the guys that removed layers from the stock springs or something else that worked well. Please tell me your experience and what you thought of the reverse eye Posie spring install on your rear end.

I went to 15” rims and tires and it lowered the car about an inch all around.

I normally go to a good spring shop and have them de-arch the stock spring.

Reverse the eyes and de-arch the spring for the drop you want.

Longer shackles and it will handle like a labrador on vinyl. Ask me how I know this......

Update:
I installed a reverse eye Posie in the rear of my Sedan and it brought the rear end down just to my liking. I now have reverse eye springs front and rear and the car is down and has just a slight rake with 600/16's all around. I am staying with 16" wheels on this car as I like the wide 5 rims and original 39 hub caps. Now I just need the rear fenders installed and some lights and we may go around block soon. It was parked in the early 90's and was stuck and neglected when I brought it home in April. Now it runs, stops and sits right and is one step closer to a driver.

Nice going . Im working on 2 1941 Tudors and a 46 tudor . I guess I got carried away .
Have you tackled the fuel system yet ? I had to replace one gas tank , now it looks like the 46 will need one .

I dropped the gas tank and had it hot tanked and cleaned at the local diesel shop. I replaced the fuel line and installed an in-line filter, rebuilt fuel pump, and cleaned the carb. I think this is mandatory on cars that have been sitting for decades.
