Was 31 the only year for a steel cab pickup? I live in the Pacific NW, mild climate. I would be tempted to drive one as my daily driver year round.

My widebed is an 'early', late '31. It has all the late features except the top is still fabric. It's a high-dollar truck, I paid $150 for it, in 1958! A friend has one that was made in '32, and is registered as a '32.

There's one like yours about 20 miles from me.Fellow bought it about the same time you did too.Indented firewall,April or May,wide bed,June, and fabric top,so it's before August.Really kind of a 2 month truck, give or take a little bit.His has a shiny radiator shell on it too,but he said he put that on when he bought the truck in the mid 50's.

The "late" '31 Pickup could have:
• Fabric top or Steel top • Flat or indented firewall • Narrow or wide bed Or any combination of these 3 attributes Mine has the Steel top, Indented firewall & Narrow bed

The steel tops were made by Budd. Who made the other 31 cabs? |
