new shaft in old style reverse idler ???

[old ugly]

the old style reverse idler uses a pin that is drilled in from the end to oil it.
the new style idler has a hole through the gear to oil it.
i have a good gear but bad idler pin.
the new style idler pin is the only one available ( as far as i know).

is there a supplier for the old style pin?
or
is there a way to use the new style pin with the old style gear and have proper oiling?
