Default 56 SD read panel cushion??

Do not know what you call it but it is the cushion that goes between the inside frame work and the outside panel. It looks like some kind of felt. Also the is something similar glued on to the roof panel that is falling apart. Anyone know what they used and what can be use in replace of them?

I don't know what that spongy-fiber material is called. When I took my Courier body to the dunk-tank, the solution completely ate it away and left an empty space between the inner structure and outer body panel. I never put anything back in there, but I suppose you could find a soft foam/rubber pad to shove in there if you need to replace it.
As far as the roof. My '55 Courier had an ordinary station wagon headliner, and like the car models, there was a large tarpaper/felt pad glued to the underside of the roof panel. There was ordinary fiberglass batt insulation under the tarpaper, then the headliner, just like any typical car.

Do not know about expanding foam. I would be afraid of it expanding too much and pushing the panel out.
