Question `69 f100 windshield seal pt 2

Still having trouble replacing windshield. Decided to go with new seal so here is the question. Heat it in oven, soap and water, silicone spray, etc ? what is the best way to get it pliable enough to get glass and chrome in their respective grooves? Any useful advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time, Al

Don't think you should heat it. I would go with the soapy water mix or maybe wd40 since it displaces water.

make sure the seal is warm fit it on the glass fit the chrome in the seal wd 40 could be used to lube it. in the channel that locks it to the vehicle insert a cord nylon or cotton 1/4 inch or so will work sold as clothes line @ lowes or home depot also lube this channel leave the 2 ends hanging out set the glass on the bottom edge so seal is where it belongs it pays to have an extra set of hands at this point leave the rope ends at top of glass starting at the top on one side push the top side where the cord your pulling is this will set the seal over the pinchweld also plastic pry bars may help harborfreight sells them as door panel tools take your time them stand back and enjoy your success

Success was achieved at 5 pm in my cold garage! Thanks for the advise. I should have bought a plain seal and thrown out the chrome! But my Custom Cab is still legit. Thanks, AL
