283 Model A Pistons
Is anyone currently making reasonable priced 283 pistons that fix standard length Model A rods?

Wasn't Rich Fallucca making them?? I don't use them, so I have no idea whether he still offers them, but at one time I thought he was.

Re: 283 Model A Pistons
Terry, I believe AER only offers different length rods that will work with the OEM 283 piston. That won't work for me as I am considering buying the new Terry Burtz Model A engine which comes with special offset cap rods which that are the same length as the the Model A rods. I have a call into John Cosper at Pete's Auto-machine to see if he still offers 283 pistons for standard length Model A rods.

Re: 283 Model A Pistons
Try EGGE machine, they make a nice thin ring piston for the A.
And you can get total seal rings for them. Lawrie |

The width of the 2 compression rings are 5/64 (.078 inch, 1.5 mm) and the oil ring is 3/16 inch wide. Out of the box, the pistons fit with .004 inch clearance and the ring gaps were within tolerance. |
