Water leak between pump and block lower mount bolt. Took the pomp off and found a bad gasket, and that particular bolt is the same length as the other 3 as i did measure them before i installed the new pump on the 1000 miles ago rebuild. so examing the block thru the water passage hole i found the sheltered area to have hole in it that alines with the mount hole. what is the best thing to do about it? its aways inside the block [about a finger length] ...........HELP!!! thanks
ps the other three mount hole are fine |

Are you saying that one of the water pump mounting bolts is open to the water jacket? Is it the lower one on passenger side? A picture would be helpful.. Also in your title says 56 332 FE, Is the engine a 58 or 59 in a 56, just curious.

I believe that one is open to water and the other 3 are blind holes. Permatex makes a sealant for head bolts that go into water jackets you might try something like that. I use it on small blocks water pumps where the bolts pass into water jacket.
