Gauges run backwards
I changed my 51 F1 from 6v to 12v, negative ground, with a one wire alternator and my gauges read backwards. What did I do wrong?

Re: Gauges run backwards
Is all reading backwards?
The amp gauge will probably do it since you swapped to negative ground. Switch the connections on the backside, or if it has a loop with the wire going thru swap the direction of the wire to get it work properly. The other gauges should not care about polarity. |

Re: Gauges run backwards
did you leave your gauges on 12 volt, if so, they will probably
burn out after a while, you can use a instrument regulator napa # IR9 reduses the voltage to 5.5 to the gauges that will make them work properly and save them from frying. |

Re: Gauges run backwards
I guess you'll have to drive backwards to have your guages work forwards
