Sorry Brent, we don't go thru Tennessee [ rt 77 to rt81]. But, we probably should. I'd like to see your operation.

I’ve had it to the AACA meetings a few times at Bellacinos, but I’m not in Troutville very much. I’ve had it to downtown Roanoke quite a number of times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That is a nice area. Used to spend quite a bit of time on/at Smith Mountain lake. There is a nice little airport there too.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a nice drive too. Mill Mountain has a spur off the parkway that leads to the Roanoke Star overlook of the city. It’s an especially nice view after dark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yup, you're right. I've not had the opportunity to ride it on a motorbike, but, we used to take our time and drive the full length of it while traveling between our 2 states [ NY and Fl]. We only stopped because of all the detours. There got to be more detour miles than BRP miles so we haven't been on it for awhile. There are a lot of nice towns and places to stop and look at along the way. Beautiful countryside. A couple decades ago I helped a friend move his body shop to SML. Afterward I'd spend time there fishing the lake and using the nice local airport. I hope its still operational. |

I used to live in the commonwealth of vaginya.....but the personal property tax on automobiles and trucks, and cycles, and boats made me move outta state.

There are a few Model A's around Franklin County but I don't see them out much but then I am not out much either, just work on them and drive them around on the farm roads. I am building one from parts to use when I go out to cut wood, mostly Model A but some parts from a T and other cars. Just having fun with this build, my others are restored stock.

It was so sad to see the Doughton Park Lodge and restaurant on the Blue Ridge Parkway close some years back. One of the nicest places on earth.
Hopefully they will reopen sometime. fried okra |
