Re: fan belt?
You can check Rock Auto to get a brand and part number, then go to the manufacturer's site.

Re: fan belt?
A decent way to quick check a belt size is with a piece of string. Mark were they meet and measure it. Works for anything with a belt.

Re: fan belt?
I found that the Rock Auto Website gives the length of the fan belts. I think the truck belts were 5/8" wide.
Plug in the numbers for your vehicle and see what you can find. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...rive,belt,8900 |

Re: fan belt?
Or just walk into the local farm supply and get a B-52 belt.
It depends a little on what pulley you have on the generator a low rev high charger generator has a smaller diameter and there is a bigger then normal one to...but usually B-52 fits nicely. Trying to order one on model here would be an adventure...lol |

Re: fan belt?
I believe a 1/2” belt in the 5/8 pulleys would work, but NOT ok. A belt should bite the pulley with the sides of the belt. The belt should not be at the bottom of the pulley, and I think that’s what you would have with a 1/2” belt.

Re: fan belt?
I have my 48 crankshaft pulley off and took a narrow belt, wrapped around it and there is about an 1/8 inch off the bottom of the pulley. I am looking at driving a type ll power steering pump off the front pulley. I cant find a narrow belt pulley for the front or a wide belt pulley for the type ll. Any ideas?

Re: fan belt?
Problem is that a narrower belt can´t handle the same amount of power and not wear out faster.
And you need enought length of the belt to make contact with the pulley. I´ve seen setups where you ad PS and AC on top which makes the belt barely touch the waterpump...not the best solution. Making a custom widebelt pulley for the PS pump is one way of solving it... |
