Best Florida touring drives?
Hey all any of you guys tour around Florida much?
I live just south of Tampa and my 28 Tudor is FINALLY almost ready for the road. What are some good spots to drive to that maybe I haven’t thought of? Thanks

Cross the state and visit the Elliott Museum (antique cars). Go through Okeechobee. Have lunch at The Crossroads Restaurant east of Okeechobee. Drive home through Clewiston on the south side of the lake, drive along the levee, see the lake.
https://elliottmuseum.org/ Drive down to the Edison & Ford Estate in Ft. Myers. https://www.edisonfordwinterestates....istoric-homes/ Have you ever been to the Bok Tower Gardens north of Lake Wales? Very cool, built in 1929. A hidden treasure of Florida. Schedule your arrival time to hear the music from the carillon. https://boktowergardens.org/ You can get to all of these on US highways and State Roads.

I have been to Bok Tower Gardens and it’s a neat place for sure! My wife’s grand parents live in Lake Wales 3 months a year to escape the Michigan winters so I’ll definitely be driving around there for sure. Still a ton of country side driving in the middle of the state.

Totally agree on Bok Tower, take a picnic lunch. BY ALL MEANS take a roll "up" Spook Hill as long as you're in Lake Wales... it's only a spit and holler from Bok Tower! https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2058 Cave Formerly from Lakeland, FL

Re: Best Florida touring drives?
When the weather cools off I always thought it might be a nice drive to head down to Everglades city Florida for an overnight trip. A lot of history.
Another good trip is to come a few miles north to Pinellas County and visit Heritage Village which is free. A lot of historic old buildings in a really nice setting. Like old Florida. And they have a Model A and a couple Model T's. Keep an eye out for a partial model A in the brush with a tree growing through it (it's more a cool looking jalopy prop we put together that has a model a engine and a bunch of old model a parts). If you come to Pinellas give me a shout and I'll meet you in my 28 Truck. I'm retired and love cruising in a Model 'A' We had a bunch of Model 'A's in Sarasota today at Charlie's barn and after the tech session we all piled in the cars and went to lunch. Doesn't get much better than that !
