What headers work best with a 302 into a 1955 Merc? I have a AOD trans if that makes a difference. Thanks, Mike

I used Sanderson hugger headers for my '56 ranch wagon with a 302 & 5 speed tremec transmission.

I would look at a set for fox body Mustang. They exit at the rear like the Merc.

A lot of guys over at the H.A.M.B. 1952-59 Ford Group (including me) use the Hedman 88400's also these https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p.../model/patriot Also available are these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p.../model/patriot Good clearance at the steering box (I have an AOD also) Collectors are a nice straight shot to the cross member ports too.

Are these log style or individual tubes? I can't make them out.

Another option might be '65 Mustang tri-y headers. I've used them on 302 in Ranger conversions. All I had to do was cut a small pie shape on the passenger collector and move collector outward about 10 degrees. Fit so well that they could be installed from above with engine installed. And they are cheap.
