Door lock for 68B Cariolet
I have a 1931 Model A Cabriolet (68B) and I have a question concerning the drivers side door lock. Some Model A's have an inside slide lever door lock and I was wondering if this car should have one since there is no way to lock the drivers side door. I know the car does not have an outside key lock on the drivers side even though there an outside key lock for the passenger side. I would appreciate any information on this topic.

Re: Door lock for 68B Cariolet
I have a 1931 Model A Cabriolet (68B) and the drivers side door lock is a inside slide lever with no outside key. It has the keyed lock for the passenger door.
I could be wrong, but I assumed that to be correct for this model/year.

Re: Door lock for 68B Cariolet
Thank you for the replies - my Cabriolet has the door handle that is verticle and lifts up to unlatch the door to open it but there is no lever to lock the door. Right now the car is at my mechanic's garage for major work - complete brake system repair, overdrive installation and rear axle and differential rebuild. As soon as I get the car back, I will remove the inside door panel to see if there is any evidence of a lever/latch to lock the door.

if it is missing some parts they can be added to your latch.

The 68C switched to the lock being in the door handle by lifting up higher to lock the door.

Re: Door lock for 68B Cariolet
Here is a driver's door inside:
And passenger door: And the door lock. At the top of this photo, you can see the little lever swung up into the unlock position. In this photo, it's the part on the left side of the photo, swung into the lock position. This photo, you can see the little stub that the lever would screw to to rotate the pawl. Here is the door assembled. The lever would rotate, jamming the mechanism
