Default Flathead pics from Great Race Bennington 6/25/18

Here are a few pictures from the lunch stop at Hemmings Bennington.
I took a picture of the blown flathead in a '32 Ford but forgot to get the car.

Here's the link to the Hemmings writeup

Thanx for the great pictures--Would someone comment on the Coker Tire car with the coolant return at the rear of the engine--I have not seen this before--

Looks like '36 or earlier heads on a '37 block. The later water pumps on the block are being used.

Old day's method aimed at running coolant the entire length of the block, front to rear, to aid in cooling. Usually accomplished by reversing '49-'53 heads, side for side. DD

What's with all the hokey stickers?.. tell me they are just magnets & I will calm down.. (or shut the "h" up!)...

They ain't magnets! They're all 'sticky' stickers. Most are sponsers, as many of these cars are prepared using pretty big dollars. DD

Too bad they don't keep the rules more like TROG with some more period correct lettering on the cars. The stickers don't really do it for me.

The entry fee for the "race" is around $5000.00 thus many cars have sponsors.
My brother did talk to one couple who said they raced for fun, they didn't care about the time checks, just that they enjoyed traveling and meeting new people.

There's nothing wrong with having sponsors on the cars, just the execution could be better.

Thanks for posting those pictures, they had made a stop up in Gardiner tuesday wanted to get up there but had to work late. They had some great weather for traveling so far.
