As I stumble around the net trying to plan my brake upgrade and trying to figure what pieces i need it occured to me I was reinventing the wheel. It is commonly described as a F100 adaptation. What years of F100 would work. There is the issue of setback, shoe width, bolt pattern, etc. My desire to have a 4.5" bolt pattern is easily dealt with as drums and hubs can be easily redrilled as long as the center hole is 3 1/4" or smaller.
Is there a site that will give dimension date on specific brake drums and backing plates. With that kind of info I could be more auccessful in locating parts in wrecking yards. What years of F100 brakes will work? Clearly 70's vehicles will be easier to find that 50 and 60's pickups. What years will have the backing plate bolt pattern I need, or can be drilled to match. Which F100s are 12". Are some 11 inc"
