When mounting the Greyhound ornament on my 35 hood ornament I find it extremely loose. There are two set screws in the back and one large screw in the front all of which I have tightened but it is still too loose. Was there a mounting Kit that took up the looseness?

The one I have came with a small rubber pad that went between the top of the original hood ornament and the groove in the base of the greyhound. When the screws tighten, everything holds tight.

Do you think that small rubber pad came with the ornament or was just fabricated? Thanks Bob for the sensable answer. I remember once when one of the above blew his, it's, top when someone gave him a stupid answer to his question.

As long as we are talking about 35 greyhounds, wonder if they had them back in 1935. I know ford issued them for 34 but I can not find any info about ford, or anyone else having them. There was one on ebay that the guy stated was original. It even had a free standing tail but no numbers on the bottom. All the repo's I've seen have the tail fixed.

Ford only used the greyhound on the 34 Ford. (He used it on Lincolns as well so don't jump on me about that.) Clara did not like the anatomically correct greyhound so he stopped using it. He did experiment with it for 35, but it was not used on production vehicles. I have a factory photo of a 35 grill with a greyhound, but never released. I also have a factory photo of a Jack Rabbit hood ornament that they experimented with. It was never released either.

I, for one, am glad that you mentioned that. I have one for my '35, but did not use it much, because of the fit. I never even thought of making a rubber pad. I'll do that ! MIKE
