I have Waltham speedometer in my late '31 Station Wagon. I bought a "rebuilt" Steward Warner speedo, but it looks like it uses a different cable. What gives?
Original Waltham on left, Stewart Warner on right. Last edited by 1931 Station Wagon; 04-09-2017 at 10:39 PM. Reason: Photo Caption |

Have you tried it yet?
They have a different shape, but the square pocket and thread look the same. |

The round speedometers all take the same speedo cable. The ovals take a different size square on the top end, except for the oval Northeast which uses a unique cable.

Thanks for everyone's help.
I got a real kick out of being called a "Junior". I bought my first antique car in 1959 and a few cars later bought a 1929 Roaster Pick-up from the original owner in 1963. It's gone full circle with about a hundred antique cars over the last 58 years to get back to a really neat "A". Being a Junior made my day! |
