1963 K code 289
City:
Central
State:
Iowa
Price:

This is a super cool little engine, but I know it is not practical for a driver so I have decided to offer it for sale.
The engine is a complete 1963 K code 289. This is an unstamped(no VIN, date code 3F06 is the only stamp) engine making it one of a very small number that were sold to a race team or an even smaller number sold over the parts counter. I have checked with some Ford guys in the know and was told that there were likely less than 200 unstamped K codes in 1963. Not pictured(or not visible) there is also a water pump pulley, fan spacer, lower bracket for the generator, flywheel and the plate between the engine & trans. Don't have the correct fuel pump, but do have a monster electric pump that was used to feed it in the '60s. I would assume the engine has very low miles as Dad bought it out of a wreck in the mid '60s and only had it is his car for 2 years or so before he got drafted. $5500 Thanks Last edited by 1EarlyA; 04-06-2017 at 09:35 PM. |

Re: 1963 K code 289
Just to clarify, this is definitely a 1963 engine with every dated piece appearing to be original to the engine. Also, it has no VIN stamp and would therefore be one of 200 + or - that went to racers or were sold over the parts counter.
