Default Late 28 to mid 29 emergency pawl

I bought an original emergency brake assembly at a swap meet sometime back to use on my mid 29 CCPU. It is the front mounted emergency brake with the push button on the top. I disassembled it to get it replated. When I was getting ready to reassemble it after replating, I noticed something strange. The pawl that goes on the rod is made of 3 pieces riveted together. The pawl is in good condition, so if it is an original part, I would like to use it. I am sure the emergency brake itself is original, but I suppose it could have been modified sometime in the past, like a lot of model A items. I always thought the original emergency brake pawls were made of a single piece of steel. My question is: Did Ford ever use pawls like in the pictures below - made of 3 pieces riveted together?

I just went out and checked mine as my floor board was out and it is the same as yours, laminated, maybe be for extra strength?.

Thanks to all that responded. It appears it is an original and I was wrong in thinking Ford used solid pawls.

Only the push button front mounted handle pawl was the only one riveted together. All the others were one piece.

Seems weird - do you know why? Was it easier to laminate thin pieces produced on a punch press?

All the ones I've seen are 3 pieces laminated.
