Writers often wonder about filling their tranny and rear end. Though I have used a baster type tool for years successfully, I came across this device which might prove superior. Its an outboard motor lower end filler which is made for a lube about the same viscosity as 600W and sells for around $10.

Those are handy, I used one on my TR4A. On my pump, the thread didn't match the gear oil bottle, so I bought a quart bottle of my usual motor oil and poured that into my 5 qt jug to have a matching bottle neck thread.
