front hub dust caps to shallow
I am putting 45 to 48 brakes on 32 spindles. Used the spacers that come in the kit. Everything fine tel I went to local auto parts store to get the dust caps. Dorman part 13973. They are just a bit shallow and the spindle bottoms out against the inside of the cup. Anybody make deep dust caps.

1. Contact Richard Lacy, Early V8 Garage, on here. One of his specialties.
Or 2. How much thread extends past the nut? Simply saw it off, dress the end, and motor on. |

Not much past the pin hole. Maybe have to re drill pin hole. I bought my kit from the early v8 garage and will call him in morning

Re: front hub dust caps to shallow
I had the same experience. I did not want to cut the spindles but was axious to drive the car. I cut the ends off some very beat up caps and welded some cup freeze plugs on. The lips on the plugs added enough length for everything to clear. I might get some nicer caps and do it again.

Like Andy, I just took another set of caps, cut them and welded them together and made deeper dust caps. I put Lincoln brakes on my 32 5w using stock spindles.
