Would someone be able to outline what lube points there are and how to lube them for my 36 roadster. I have the lube chart but I'm not sure where to use oil, and grease etc and how to apply. As an example there appears to be a lube point at the front of the generator but do I just squirt a bit of oil into it or is there a proper approach? I'm reasonably good technically but its not a big part of restoring race motorcycles so I feel I'm lacking knowledge.

Basically if it has a grease fitting, grease it;a plug, such as the trans and rear end, fill it with correct oil until it reaches the bottom of the hole. I use 3in1 electric motor oil in the generator and distributor. Your lube chart should tell what lube to use.
Any more questions and concerns let us know. That is what this wonderful site and guys are here for. (I mean the others. I'm not wonderful.) |

Here is a chart for a later Ford truck. It won't be really different than your car. It shows what fluids, how often, etc. There must be some specific to your car available somewhere.

The shop manuals have charts that list the maintenance/lubrication points and what type of lubricate is required at each point. It also includes recommended maintenance intervals.
LOL, Ross, that is the same chart I was referring to!!!!! ![]() |

If you have a later 36 with fittings on the spring centerbolts that look like grease fittings they are not for grease, they are for "spring lube", light oil mixed with talc and a touch of ground asbestos Last edited by Kurt in NJ; 07-28-2016 at 07:42 PM. |
