Is there any way to make the pictures clearer such as with a spot light? Wayne

I've fished out a couple flame arrestors. The hardest part was to get the threaded part to unscrew first.

You might try putting it up the tailpipe!
PS: I couldn't resist. . . . |

next time you drain the oil in any of your cars (modern or not) stick it up the drain plug hole and have a look. I'm curious as to how clear it is.
Or rear differential on any car/truck.

Has anyone tried the Horror-Freight scopes ?
Are there any small enough to pass through a 14mm spark-plug hole ? Is the image quality worth it ? Thanks, Frank |

Yes, what Vince said!
You might have to make this tool, then remove the fill pipe to look inside. |

That would be your decision. so far I found the gas float is shot (no surprise), the flame arrestor is in the tank (no surprise), the tank isn't as rusty as I thought it would be (surprise ), the car was stored with the starter removed because there are a number if acorns in the flywheel housing(surprise), the number two cylinders is scored (not surprised). the camera is hard to control because the cable is extremely flexible. next I'll attached to some wire to see if that helps...

For $20, can't go wrong if you have a need. As Jim mentioned, attaching something like a coat hanger wire to the cable may be needed for some inspections. The cable is long enough to do a couple colonoscopies at the same time.

Just a quick FYI
I found one on Amazon that has the small USB connector so I can plug it into my smartphone. That makes it real handy. I did have to download some app from China - though my phone still works........ I used mine to see the clearance between my air cleaner and hood on a 67 Chevy. Next I want to look into the 31's cylinders. |

Same one I got...
So far I've not found anything I won't see when I begin the working on the car, except the better view in the gas tank... |

I like the I phone camera, it takes good pictures down small holes , this picture is through a 1/2" hole on a flathead block
