Re: Distrubitor vacuume line
The 38 Ford set up is a metal vacuum line from the distributor to the intake manifold left side, bottom, front. There is a second vacuum port on the intake manifold left, bottom, rear for the vacuum wiper motor. There is not a plate under the Carb. so you will have to either change your set up or improvise. Can you post a photo of what you have? Maybe the intake manifold was changed???

Re: Distrubitor vacuume line
Here's a picture of the underside of the intake vacuum port. I noticed on mine that the newer gasket material "mushed" into the groove. Ended up putting a small V with a razor blade in the gasket. Not all the way through the gasket mind you.

Re: Distrubitor vacuume line
Hey Joe, It may or may not be an issue. Might just want to blow through the line to see if its clear. It may well be. I guess you could also clean out that channel with a burr slightly. Especially if you've had the intake resurfaced.
