Lincoln Assemble Plant in 1922
Towards the end of the video I had to laugh at the guy parallel parking the large Phaeton into the box car thats what I call armstrong steering.

Great footage, but the dating is way off. In the first part those appear to be '31s and in the last part '29s. Nary a '22 in sight.
The lintel over the main entrance of the Warren Avenue plant lives on at the Lincoln Motor Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI, along with nine other of some of the best auto museums in North America |

1922 was the year that FoMoCo purchased the Lincoln Motor Company. The Leland Lincolns still had mostly wood spoke wheels. It seems folks don't do research on stuff like they used to.

Very interesting watch. Dave, the first car they show had double white wall tires as it came down the assy line, would that have been ordered before the build or did Lincoln periodically put white walls on as an accessory as everything else in the video has black wall tires??

Lincoln pricing in the era was quite different from that of the Fords with regard to optional equipment and many things were available at no extra cost. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that you could buy ten new Model As for the price of a new Lincoln in the 1928-31 period.
Judging from the Ford Archives photos of Lincolns, WSW tires were not in vogue until around 1928 when they started to dominate in the photos. The build cards for the most of the "Classic Era" Lincolns survive at the Benson Ford Research Center and all of the '30-'39 Lincolns that I've had were built with double WSW tires. |

Also interesting how the rear fenders were attached to body and the front fenders and running boards attached to the frame, if all seemed to align and bolt together so east these days!!!!
